Default Inodes limitation has pushed me to another host

Well, it does seem that the inodes limitation has led me to finding another host.

While I did setup some scripts and moved some of my sites, I could see that 50,000 'limit' would be hit rather soon, especially with temp files, image uploads, and cached pages. The fact that the mail is counted as an inode deters me because of spam issues.

Even if there was a limit on space, the number of inodes (files) shouldn't be an issue. After server side includes, email attachments, images for icons, and all that is concerned, this isn't the host for me.

I'm sure hostgator is a great host, but the inode issue has made me move to another after my first 48 hours.

Plus I don't even have full access to the forums yet...

Hello,

I checked your ticket history and your account has not been affected an any way from this limit. If you were to go over 50,000 inodes your account would not really be affected except that you would be skipped when the weeklies backups were ran.

There wouldn't be any other consequences unless the high amount of inodes actually caused problems with the file system on the server.

I see you just signed up for the forums yesterday, they can take a day or so to get approved depending on what admin is working at that time, but it's active now.

Let us know if you have any further questions about the inode limits, we would like to keep your business.
