I would suggest that with the welcome letter you inform your new users that they will get a call from you to verify the account.
second please let the sales reps open an account on hold. I have a bad start currently with Hostgator (and when it is not running soon I will switch hosting after not even two days). setup the hosting and looked first great, played a little, setup some domains, installed scripts and then I needed to get off the computer (and was far from the phone) and the trouble started. -hostgator tryed to call me -hours later they again tryed and left a message, so I knowed I need to call them -when I tryed to log in late night, all was gone -called late night to verify (pro I got a live person around 11PM MST, con he did not do what he was telling me) -morning was still down, started chat, was told to verify my account (again)by phone -did the verify again and was told in couple hours the salesmanager will be back in and then I should get my site running (I was the same told by the night guy, but did not happen) -so my new account is still on hold getting close to two days. |

Phone verification is standard and most big companies do it. You should expect it. HG is just trying to protect themselves from fraud. |

that would be a one liner. And no I have no problem with the verify itself ... problem is that I did verify it now for three times and was told everything from 2 hours to a couple minutes to have it back running .... and it is still down. so I still stand to my suggestion, add one line like " we will verify your order by phone in the next couple of hours " ..... thomas |
