Inbox subfolders / IMAP

Hi,

I've set up an IMAP email account. Working fine with Thunderbird or Outlook.
Now I'd like to create subfolders under Inbox folder, but they don't let me.
I can instead create a folder beside Inbox, but I don't want that. And then, when I try to delete this folder, I've an error message.

Can someone help me or confirm me subfolders are not possible?

You can't create sub folders on INBOX, because that is not where sub folders go. They go under the account, not the INBOX. You should have no problems creating folders in your IMAP box and accessing them from any machine with IMAP access.

Is it possible to create a subfolder for a parent folder which isn't the inbox. For instance, I want the following:

Inbox
Parent1
- SubFolder1
- SubFolder2
Parent2
- SubFolder1
- SubFolder2
Sent
Outbox

SquirrelMail looks like it will do it, it gives an option to do it "Create Folder (insert folder name) as a subfolder of (select folder)." However, nothing is listed under the "select folder" drop down, even though I have plenty of folders setup. I could do this at my old webhost and was wondering if this is being restricted somehow, or if I missing something obvious.

I'm unable to create sub folders using IMAP. Just Folders.
