Image hosting

hi ..

first of all ..
host gator is the Best hosting i had ever seen in my life ...
i'm really glad that i'm apart of it ..

but there is a one suggestion that i want to say
(( Image Hosting ))

Please allow to use this king of scripts ..
i mean the photo's only NOT files

i know the files such as (zip,rar, etc... ) and more dangarous
but i mean photos like (jpg,JPG,BMP, etc .. )

and the script should be simple ... not as (http://imageshack.us/) etc ..

this is my hope and suggestion for host gator ..

I doubt HG will allow imagehosting sites anytime soon as sites like that put load on the server which will slow other sites down

Does the OP mean something like Coppermine, to display pictures, or a place to download them?

Unfortunately those sites tend to slow down servers when they get hit with high amounts of traffic, which is why we only allow these types of sites on dedicated servers.

You can install programs such as Coppermine and Gallery2 to create photo galleries. You can upload your photos to them and view them online.

Imagehosting would refer to letting other folks visiting your site to store photos such as Imageshack or Photobucket. That would not be allowed by the Terms of Service.

mmmm the files may hit with high amounts of traffic
but for the photos i dosent make any high amounts of traffic is the limit for the photo is set to 500KB or less ..

But for the Files upload that is for sure it will be hit with high amounts of traffic ,,

But here I suggest for photos upload with a limit for expamle ..

I know that .. I already have Coppermine but its waste of time to upload there ,,, it will be fine is there is an simple upload sustem like this one here http://www.sangaky.com/up/ with 500 KB limit for uploading and you can active the hotlinking so no one will try to upload unless he is a member at your forums ..

500K??!?! I'm not good at modern browser/bandwidth/transmission arithmetic but that's almost two minutes to load one image on a fast dialup connection.

Granted, many visitors would have faster service. But I'd hate to share server space if the site had even 10 visitors at once, let alone "high volume traffic".

It still amazes me that people can see something like Facebook, Myspace, Photobucket, etc. with one eye, and a ten-buck shared account with the other, and go AhHah!!

Kind of like expecting the dorm manager to OK the idea of a theme park in your room. A water-ride theme park.

One of the reasons the reputation of HG is so good is that they prevent such things as image hosting on shared servers.
