Hello guys i am so newbie here. I need all of ur helps.
Actually i just bought a domain from namecheap.com and i already activated it using hostgator, and thanks for the video it helps alot. Then i bought a simple package for newbie to create a website sales, everything is there and all i need to do is just fill in the blanks. The packages also included video on how to use it.Since they use filezilla,i downloaded it and try to follow the steps. But then something goes wrong.I suppose can put my file into the remote site ex: muhdmunir.com/tester/tester.html like what the video did.But then after i completed the steps, nothing happend.I have a picture to show it here. But i think the picture cannot be upload here right? Seriously i need someone to solve this problem.I have created folder inside "cgi-bin",the folder was "tester" then i put a file "tester.html" where i got from the package i bought and put inside a "tester" folder. I hope u all understand what i means.Sorry for my bad english.Btw does it any wrongs if i put a host at FileZilla with ip or something like ns19xx.hostgator.com that i took from my hostgator.. Or someone please guide me how to put my file correctly to remote site(FileZilla) and can be preview by other people at browser.Thats what i want.I can desinged the website, but i dont know how to put it so that people can browse it. Thank you, muhdmunir91@gmail.com |

You should put the files that constitute your website into public_html. So, if you've created an index.html to be your home page, put it into public_html. If your domain is example.com, and you put a file called tester.html in public_html, then the URL to access it is http://example.com/tester.html (note that public_html is not part of the address).
Only files in public_html are visible to the outside world. No browser can see files you've placed anywhere else. |

It is also worth noting that filenames and folder names are case sensitive in Linux. As a general rule it is best to use all lowercase letters in filenames and folder names to prevent problems.

You should not delete any files in the basic account setup. You should get with the Live Chat support folks, and have them straighten things out for you (this is a peer-to-peer support forum, so we don't have access to your account).

I'll say it again - start a Live Chat session with support. If you've deleted key files and directories, they're the ones who can get things set up properly for you.
