Default I'm a bit confused with billing.

Hello,

I have set up my products and imported clients from whm.

And I would like to start billing my clients, but there are some things I don't understand at the moment, and I was hoping someone could explain this to me.

I will explain how I would like for whmcs to work, I'm not sure if this is possible or not.

At the moment (until I get to know whmcs) I would like for whmcs to generate invoices but not send them. When I would log into whmcs I could see all invoices that have been generated but I deicide whether I send them or not.

Right now I'm starting to add Products/Services to my imported clients, but there is one thing I don't understand. After adding new service, choosing package name, choosing billing cycle (mostly beginning of this month) , etc. and saving, nothing happens, I can see that there are Unpaid/due Invoces on client profile summary, but amount of those invoices is 0.00.

How do I make whmcs generate invoices for those clients ?

Also in system overview I can see Unvoiced Billable Items - 1 but when I click on it there is "no records found" notification.

Well, actually those questions weren't answered by whmcs Documentation, I found them out myself.

I actually have quite a few question which I couldn't locate in whmcs documentation

Did you check the products, if are correct setup, with correct amount on, and if they are assign to each client?
Did you tried (after you add a product) to generate manually a invoice?

I was trying to generate invoice in the wrong place.
I found "Generate due invoices" which generated right invoice after clicking on it. So the invoice generating question has been answered.

But I still have some question regarding Automation.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

1.Automatic invoice creation only occurs if I have set up cron job ?
2.If I haven't set up cron job I can still generate invoices manually using "generate due invoices" ?
3. Overdue notification will only get sent If I have set up cron job ? Alternatively I can send them manually ?

This product is designed to have the cron event fire ONCE daily to take care of various tasks. Whilst you can manually do certain things, the whole point of this software is to automate things.

The best place for answers to your questions is at the WHMCS forum. (forum.whmcs.com)

Hello,

As Striddy said it is designed for automation and specifically the cron job is required to achieve this as it runs the automation script.

You can create/send individual invoices without the cron job under the invoices tab on a clients profile.

Just out of interest how come you don't want to automate these tasks? I don't know what I'd do without WHMCS's automation.

I really do want to use automation, however, I want to be absolutely sure that everything works great first.
Since there isn't my country localisation I must make sure that everything works correct.
I've been experiencing issues with characters and pdf invoices.
And I haven't found a way, yet, how to configure whmcs automation exactly how I need.
