Exclamation illegal "clients" with reseller hosting.

Hello, I'm seeing the possibility of hiring a reseller plan, but I have a question, what if one of my clients has a "bad behavior", such as installing pirated software, music, torrents, generally do illegal things.

What would happen then? my account would be suspended?

Best to get an official answer to that question from HG. Email sales AT hostgator DOT com.

This concern is why we've always used our 'reseller' account, not so much for reselling hosting, but providing hosting to our web design clients. This means they do not have access. We charge them yearly for their hosting and we do all changes to their website and email setup. We generally take care of their domain registration as well. The clients we get want a website but don't know how and don't want to learn so it is perfect for them.

Those that do want to take a more active role, we set up with a customized WordPress site and give them Editor access, never Admin.

This policy may lose us a few clients, but those are the clients we probably don't want in the first place.

Of course our business model doesn't allow for effortless automated selling which a lot of resellers seem to expect. I guess that's the trade off for more secure peace of mind.

The Terms of Service will show you what reseller accounts are not allowed to do.

We will suspend the client that is causing the problem, and let you know. We very rarely suspend an entire reseller account, unless its apparent that the entire account is used for illegal activity.

Reseller are a big no-no in this industry. I suggest that you should not use that.

Care to rephrase. Your post makes no sense at all.

He's saying he suggests not to use a reseller to host your clients - Not that I agree.

HI, I was referring to the account reseller. I am suggesting him not to do that.
