I'm working behind a firewall with a hide behind NAT. When I make a connecton to my HG server via IMAP/POP/SMTP I see ident traffic from the HG server to my NATed address. My firewall dropps this traffic. I have to wait 30 seconds for ident to fail (timeout) before I can send, recieve, delete or access my IMAP mailbox. This really isn't acceptable.
Because I'm using a corporate firewall, I'm not about to open up ident for the world. Seeing as how HG is allowing access even though ident fails, would HG consider not using ident? I know about 3 other HG customers that have the same issue. I imagine there are many more behind firewalls that don't allow ident to the workstations... Thanks, Christian |
