As I am sure most of you have heard, there is a rather large hurricane brewing off the coast of Florida and is scheduled to hit land sometime over the weekend. HostGator is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, so I felt it important to post this note to help alleviate any fears regarding outages and/or data loss.
Your data is 100% safe, and no outages resulting from the storm will result. All of the HostGator servers are located in a state-of-the-art data center in Houston, Texas - over 1,000 miles away. With that said, I'd like to stress that ithere is a possibility (although very small) that our sales staff may be required to evacuate the area if it is deemed hazardous. If this happens, there will be a longer than usual response time to any email directed to sales@hostgator.com. New account setup time may also take a bit longer, so we thank you in advance for understanding. With any luck, the storm will pass by and they will not have to evacuate. We are hoping for the best, and as of now are continuing to conduct business as usual. -Justin (not in Florida )
