Below is the message we received shortly before the downtime took place.
"During a recent facility audit, Facility Engineers found it necessary to correct a power issue that affects your server. Our Engineers will need to take down your server for 10-20 minutes while we correct this problem. This maintenance is necessary in order to provide your server with our high availability offerings. The time currently scheduled is between the hours of 12:00am and 6:00am CDT on Friday, October 15th. Again, the server will only be offline for 10-20 minutes between this time and not the entire duration." It has been hours and the hummer server is still offline. As with many of you I was woken up due to this incident, and am currently yelling at the DC to fix this grave error in judgment. I will update as soon as I have further news.

Yeah please do..it's been 2 hours since I've contacted support for the first time.....My customers can't check their emails(me included)..can't work with their web applications and today I had the "opening" of one application for my big client which was obviously a fiasco as we couldn't connect to the server(and I was up all night uploading stuff).....terror

As soon as I posted the previous message the server was up again.....so for now everything works....
Will this downtime be enough for "99.9% uptime, money back" offer.... ![]() UPDATE: Some of my customers reported that their sites are still unaccessible and others reported that everything works fiine now....what a nightmare.... Last edited by abstraktMedia; 10-15-2004 at 06:24 AM. |

The server came back online a little over a half hour ago. All sites our online however due the period of downtime some isps might not have refreshed yet. It took my bellsouth connection about 5 minutes later than most of our techs I was in contact with before sites showed again.
The datacenter didn't provide a good explanation to the downtime, so I have emailed one of the supervisors and am waiting for response.

Yes, and the folks I have that have their sites back, are now complaining that FTP is still not functioning. Thankfully, I have my support forum back, and don't have to type, or paste and alter, replies to all the email.
Most are back.. thank god! |

Brent are you sure that this is an ISP refresh issue? A customer just send me the link to his page and his page is going up and down like a bouncing ball. One minut is accessible and other minute not. Strange....

There are still some FTP issues on hummer but those should be fixed shortly.

The server is still bouncing up and down, and most of our clients can't get email ("server not found") and CPanel is godawfully slow if it works at all.

Still no cpanel, no email, no subdomains, and no resold domains either. My main domain (crucible.net) seems to be popping up and down.

The server is having some issues on reboot and failing to start some key services, a tech is working on it currently and I will post an update here in just one second.

According to a tech, the named service is having problems still. That does sound plausible, would explain why the subdomains aren't working, and if the MX records aren't accessible would screw up email as well.
Hope this gets fixed soon:-( |

Yep...I'm listening to very angry customers whole day...the "major" sitest are still!!!!! down(that's 7 hours of downtime)...I want even ask If you'll give me money back for this month as I also have to refund money to those customers......
I have some pretty important customers(for example Porsche Group....) and If the issue want be resolved by tomorrow I'll have to cancel my reseller account and open new one somewhere else...hope it doesn't come to that as I'm very satisfied with Gator..... |

Seeing some improvements...my resold domains are up, and email seems to be generally working, but my subdomains (something.crucible.net) are not working right now. Hopefully this is nearly solved.
