Exclamation HTTPS Access to cPanel

Hello HostGator Team,

Is it possible for you to implement a Secure but Common Page for Logging into cPanel?

I mean to say, there's a common URL for all like: https://www.hostgator.com/cgi/account/cpanel , where various users can enter their Username and Password in Completely Encrypted manner and when the login is successful, the user gets redirected to his/her Website cPanel.

I hope you can implement this.

Thanks

I didn't know this.

But I am getting Untrusted Connection in FF: http://i47.tinypic.com/2ztam55.png , should I add an exception or there's some other way

Yes add the exception.

HG provides us with a free shared SSL certificate so we can connect securely to cpanel and WHM for resellers.

As the SSL certificate isn't specific for your domain, you need to add the exception.

You can pay for your own SSL certificate but if you are only connecting to cpanel / WHM don't bother. If on the other hand you want to run an e-commerce site, the having one is a must.

Also I just found that, if I type https://gator10xx.hostgator.com:2083 , there's no need to add exception

Thanks

Yes, that works as well. The IP will likely work also.

That is correct mrintech,

With this method there is no need to add the exception since the Shared SSL is issued to *.hostgator.com.

Arrow Re: HTTPS Access to cPanel

As a reseller I can also access it securely, without adding any exception (it's a valid secure connection), by visiting:

cPanel: SERVERNAME.websitewelcome.com::2083

WHM: SERVERNAME.websitewelcome.com::2087
