On a shared hosting, is there a way to do a folder different than "www" to be accessible through http? I want to put images and other static files on a different place. I thought I just had to give 755 permissions, but that did not worked. Is there something else I should do or it is not possible?
(This is not the right place, but I created a forum account yesterday and I'm still waiting for it to be aproved. Meanwhile, this is something I would need to solve and I would really appreciate some help)

If you wanted for example images.yourdomain.com, that is called a subdomain and you set those up in cpanel. If you want to use for example yourdomain.com/images, then just create a directory via FTP or the cpanel file manager. 0755 permissions should be set automatically but best to check.
