.htaccess & php.ini
Will I have access to modify .htaccess?
Will I be able to use custom php.ini settings?

Yes, you can modify .htaccess and have some control over features in php.ini. Servers are being upgraded to PHP 5 and you can create a php.ini file in your folders to control some features. You would need to contact support to determine if a specific modification is possible.
