Default Hosting Plan Ungrades?

((Didn't find this in a search))

Can a hosting package be upgraded, say from
Hatchling Baby Swampat any time? Can the existing site keep running without interruption?

How is this billed?

Thanks! Just deciding....

Yes, you can upgrade any time without interruption.

Billing should be the same as when you signed up.

How do I upgrade my account to a better plan?

Solution
To upgrade, please fill out http://www.hostgator.com/upgrade.php Usually we have uprades done within a few hours, however please allow up to 8 hours.

You will be billed at a prorated amount for the remainder of your month at time of upgrade. (Example: If you pay us $9.95 a month for the Baby Croc plan and wanted to upgrade to the Swamp plan, which is $14.95 a month, that is a $5 a month difference. If you were half way into your billing cycle you would only be billed a $2.50 upgrade fee.)

How do I downgrade my hosting account?

Solution
Please fill out the form located at http://www.hostgator.com/downgrade.php. There is a $10.00 dollar charge to
downgrade an account. We were forced to put this charge into place after many users were upgrading / downgrading
the same account daily in an attempt to save pennies.

Small clarification: "without interruption" as long as upgrade is within same class--i.e., smaller shared to larger shared; smaller reseller to larger reseller. Going from shared to reseller or dedi, or reseller to dedi, is somewhat different.

Correct.

Since he/she only listed Shared Accounts I didn't mentioned anything else.

Just didn't want to confuse a future searcher...who sometimes grab exactly the wrong info.

But, but... this excited future searcher is looking for that very answer. If you know which thread I'm looking for, I will happily go read it! I want to know everything I need to know before I decide whether or not to move from Baby shared to Aluminum Reseller...

Anyone

Everyone

If you can let us know why you're considering the move we can likely point you in the right information direction
