We currently house our own website but are looking for a solution for hosting videos that requires more bandwidth than we currently have here. My question is this...
Can we configure a DNS entry that will point to your server but will still allow us to have our webserver here. As an example... Let's say our current site is www.oursite.com. Could we set up a site under your swam hosting package that would be hosted by you and referenced as video.oursite.com? Thanks. Jim |

Yes, you can purchase a shared hosting plan and set it to appear to be a subdomain on your site.
However, as far as the hosting of videos or audio files, read the TOS on the subject here: http://www.hostgator.com/tos.shtml also refer to this post on streaming videos from shared plans: http://forums.hostgator.com/video-st...t=stream+video |

I'm pretty sure you could do that, but just be careful about the TOS from Hostgator.
