Question hosting .co.uk domains

do you have any problems with hosting national specific domains eg .co.uk or .fr? by problems I mean DNS resolution where a separate UK company deals with domain registration (and therefore holds the ISP Tag for .co.uk/nominet)

I've come across situations where a host's nameservers allegedly have to be registered with Nominet or the equivalent for the hosting to be effective. Is this the case and if so can HostGator still provide email and web hosting in these cases?

Many thanks,

I have .fi domains here without problems, and I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be any problems with .co.uk or .fr or any other international domains.

You mean that if you have a .co.uk domain registered in Nominet you MUST use nameservers registered in Nominet for that domain?

I have a .co.uk domain and I did get contacted by Nominet, but I'm using my private nameservers on an HG account. Basically, I have a Nominet account, which was provided for me by Nominet.

I haven't had any problems so far.

I have a Baby Croc account and have .com, .net & .co.uk domains. I have used ukreg & 123-reg as domain registrars and just set the nameservers for those domains to be the ones provided by hostgator.

Nice one. I've the same doubt: keeping my domain with UKReg and moving hosting to HG. Now I know what to do.
