Default Hostgator vs other support

I went on a spending spree last night and had to do some purchasing.

-I needed a static IP from HostGator for when I add my SSL certificate.
-I needed help on a domain name error from RegisterFly.
-I purchased a lifetime license from WHMCSLicenses for billing.

EVERY single one of these purchases needed a support ticket after my purchase for one reason or another. Some of the sites didn't have the automated process, or they simply needed a person to do the change.

Fair enough.

I was curious with all these tickets being sent out who would have the best response time and overall personal satisfaction.

I was most worried about HG as in the past a few of my support requests have been hard to get accomplished without trading quite a few tickets back and forth. Turns out, HG is the best so far.

-RegisterFly:
I wanted to know some more detailed info about mass domain name transfers and special requests.
  • Sent 4:16 pm on Jan 8, 2007. No response in 1 week. I gave up on this ticket.
I tried to transfer a private domain without turning private off and screwed up the automatic transfer process.
  • I sent the ticket out at 11:16 am. I got a answer 24 hours later that was not a solution but a rehash of common knowledge. then I got a refund a day later. *shrugs*
-WHMCSLicenses:
This a WHMCS reseller company. They sell the same licenses a bit cheaper then the actual WHMCS site. I have no idea why, but I was able to buy a full license w/branding removed for $212.00 instead of $244.00

  • Ticket Resolved: 09/01/2007 6:02pm (after discovering it was a email issue. Not really sure who is to blame on this one.)
-HostGator:
I read via the forums and support that in order for me to have a SSL cert installed I would need a static IP upgrade. That would need to be done by the support ticket system.
  • Ticket posted: January 9, 2007 12:00 AM EST (approx)
  • Ticket resolved: January 9, 2007 2:35:27 AM EST (while I was snuggled in bed.
Pretty good service if you ask me.

So as it stands it over 24 hours later and the only place I am having issues with is RegisterFly. They havn't even acknowledged me yet.

Not what I expected, but happy with HG and their quick turn around time. I wonder if it's best to submit a ticket in the middle of the night for HG.

Default Re: Hostgator vs other support

Time passes.

RegisterFly has never, and will never respond.

YMMV.
