Hello,
I do own account with hostgator and other hosts. I have particularly noticed in hostgator you don't need to create folders especially, if a script has to create it, it does it by itself. Wordpress you can update/modify files from your admin login's itself without making your folders 777 in ftp. Whereas in other hosts you need to make special chages via ftp. Maybe I know what are these kind of server setting or server featured called? Please let me know if you don't get what I am taking about, I will explain again. Thankyou. |

The reason is because Hostgator uses suexec.
There's a lot of info about this application on the Apache site: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/suexec.html or http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/suexec.html Last edited by RainbowViper; 05-02-2009 at 01:30 AM. |
