Angry HostGator Reviews / Hostgator Complaints

I have been a client of hostgator for 3 years and support used to be great until the last year or so... I maybe late on a payment here and there...but I pay my bill each month. Then there was yesterday...

I buy domains and on some I run through hostgator for hosting. Every time I have to speak with a representative about my site not propagating. Yesterday was the worst so far. I spoke to the first tech supporter Za***** Fr, he said it was a problem with my domain registrar... I felt like he was brushing me off so I went to my registrar...needless to say it wasnt the registrar... (lazyness maybe)

The second tech I spoke to Do***** Be, he asked me what the problem was, so I told him everytime I register a new domain 3 in the last week alone have given me problems...while a fourth on a separate account did not give me an issue... I told him how the week before an admin was to get ahold of me after checking my hosted server to make sure it was ok...He says:

(5:00:36 PM) Do***** Be: They will only check the server if there is a problem.
Now mind you...I just told him what the symptom was... And it appears that this lazy employee does not want to have a technician look at my server or is instructed not to allow this to happen... needless to say, I ended that conversation... As it was going nowhere... at this point im ready to leave hostgator...my parter says to give them another chance and try sales support... Here yet another tech comes on and says that they have been having issues and that it will be fixed...

Al** Fo: If you get the portal, that normally starts from the instant the domain is added as an addon, and it caused by Apache 2 loading faster than expected on the server you are on. We have a fix for that in the works, once we have finished testing it on our development servers we will be unrolling it on our production servers

Al** Fo: I can't give you an exact ETA, but it should be pretty soon as the fix has been in the works for a good period of time already. Unfortunately though, only our CTO would have an exact date
For the last six months this has been happening to me and no email, nothing, nada or zilch from the hostgator staff until yesterday.

Yes they all apologized for my inconvenience of losing 2 hours of my day. But would not help me resolve the issue until Mr. Fo. (if you could call it that) They all were interested in getting me off their backs....like:

ARRRRGGGGG - I just got done telling you my problem!!!!!

At anyrate....

I understand that I will be getting a canned response (which they dont mean) from hostgator, as the others have... I guess a time comes within a company that they let their support fall by the wayside...

Its a shame though... I liked your service so far but wasting my time yesterday and the laxadasical attitude from the staff is beyond repair is not worth having these accounts with you or refering our clients... Count me a drop lost from your bucket but eventually that hole is going to drain your tank.... I can tell you this drop is gonna land in someones bucket...

They did remind me to pay my account and suspended it for good measure until I paid. THATS THE SPIRIT!!!!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble and that you have been unable to get it resolved. I'm going to find those chats and see what went wrong.

In the mean time, I would like to get your issues resolved. Could you PM me your domain name and an updated description of your problem? I will have one of our best administrators investigate it and the server to determine what is causing the problem.

I was able to look up your information in our billing system based on the domain name you have and I attempted to call you to see if I could resolve this for you but it appears the number we have on file is out of date or you're not available.

Have you ever opened a ticket number on this? This type of issue would not be suited for chat. Chat is for basic questions, unfortunately chat technicians aren't able to look into server issues.
