Arrow Hostgator Policy Changes :: JSP,Backups and more

Hello Everyone,

This is to update everyone that we have had the following policy changes today.

1. We have stopped offering JSP for new as well as existing customers. Clients currently having JSP server enabled on gatorasp will be serviced as normal. Just the new subscriptions have been stopped.

2. We provided Windows OS on dedicated server packages until now. But this option has been discontinued.

3. Dedicated servers will not longer have the non-managed option with them. All dedicated servers will be fully managed and will not have an option to remove the control panel as well

4. Backup restoration procedure has been changed. Backups would no longer restored just by sending an email to support@hostgator.com. You will need to fill in http://www.hostgator.com/restore.php for any restoring any backups needed. All backup restores would be charged $15 from here on.

5. We are offering some standard dedicated server addons from now on. You can check these at http://www.hostgator.com/ticket/ in the Dedicated Server Addons section. (Any forms missing would be add soon)

6. Payment overdues will be charged from now on. If your account is suspended due to nonpayment , there will be a $10 late fee before reactivation in such cases.

Any questions, suggestions and comments are welcome in this thread. We will be glad to elaborate any doubts you have.

Best Regards,
Joe,
Hostgator Technical Support Department.

Hi

I'm on a semi-dedi so the new backup procedure doesn't affect me does it? I've been backing up my site using the 'backup home directory' option in CP as I understood you don't backup semi-dedi's. Is this still the correct procedure for me?

Thanks

Dawn

Does your change with JSP mean that I should get a different hosting site for the jsp stuff that I have?

Dawn: This only applies to clients who need something backed up from our weekly backups, etc. (Aka, if someone deletes there site or database on accident)

Corkys: We will not be supporting any new JSP clients, if you currently have JSP with us we will still continue to support it for you.
