Just my personal opinion, Brent, but why didn't you allow your MEMBERS here to submit entries?

Now maybe you have some personal relationships with members on the digitalpoint forums, with the designers, whatever, but in all due respect, some of your HG members here probably could have done as well or maybe even better, but they didn't even have a chance because you never offered them the chance. Plus, when you offer monetary prizes and hosting prizes to people on another forum, what does that say about your faith, confidence, in HG members' ability to test their skills? This could have been an exciting competition amoung your own MEMBERS.

I find it odd that in the first three days of GatorJay's poll on what graphic was the best, despite several members asking for what purpose, asking for more information, even submitting graphics; 15 HG staff members decided to visit and respond to this post (the most I've ever seen in the forums, ever), yet not one of them offered any information about the graphics, their purpose, including yourself.

Only after 8 days did you decide to tell your members HERE what your reasoning was, but you were more to the point with the digitalpoint forum about the actual PURPOSE of the design (i.e., you plan to use the helicoptor for various purposes). Having known that little bit of information, your members here could have well thought out designs and submitted them for you.

Then, on Nov 3, you announced to the digitalpoint forum that you would decide a winner on Nov 5, and extended the submissions. On Nov 6 (today), you announced the winner on digitalpoint forums, and then came to your own forum, announced the winning design (from a designer on digitalpoint) and asked what everyone thought.

Again, just MHO, take it or leave it, but I think your members should have deserved first choice in submitting graphic designs. At the very least, you could have had a larger pool of experienced designers to choose from.

I'm not an artist, but I know what is appealing to me, it's better than the other ones posted but it's not outstanding by any stretch. Is there some large vector image of it that looks better?

If there's one thing I've learned in 50 years, no 2 people at an accident see the same thing.

I'm not impressed with them. Maybe others will like them, but I don't think they look that great.

One thing that I dont' like about them, is that you can't quickly read the name. You want your customers to be able to see the name in a quick glance, and know what the name is, and I just don't see that happening with those logos.

Your right I should have posted it here as well... It really just didn't hit me our forum had people who would be interested in something like this.

So here's me making it up to you.....

If someone can do a logo here for a site my girlfriend is trying to get going I'll give you a few hundred dollar reward. The site is called "ebreakup.com" We are thinking about an evil cupid with horns and possibly holding a rocket launcher or some type of weapon.

I'd suggest Brent does NOT use logoworks. I can't believe logoworks were acquired by HP after they were busted for stealing logos... creating ones that were REMARKABLY similar to hundreds out there already.

I'd suggest he find a designer himself. I could do a logo but Brent would never be sure that the logo created I hadn't stolen or pirated the idea.

Hello Everyone! I would like to introduce myself. I am Brent's girlfriend, Kristen. I noticed that a few of you were upset that you were not given the opportunity to participate in creating a logo for Brent's mom, and I'm sorry about that. Although, as Brent mentioned before, I will be needing some help myself in this department!

I am currently working on a site called ebreakup.com. Though I can't give you all the details, we are trying to get it up and running as soon as possible, but before doing so, we need a logo! I was thinking something along the lines of an evil cupid, perhaps ripping a heart in half? I am not totally stuck on this concept and would love to get some more ideas!

I look forward to hearing from everyone and seeing your logo ideas!

Can you think of a better logo for ebreakup.com? That wasn't such a nice thing to say. Just giving my opinion on the idea and get the ball rolling on this thread. Since most of the people in here have been a little negative since Brent didn't start offering the option for people to make logos here first. I have yet to see one logo or response since this opportunity has been offered.
