Man that 2nd machine is some serious hardware. The question of course is : "Can it play Crysis at full resolution and max settings?" If so, what kind of frame rate do you get? Just curious as I recently updated my machine and am thinking of going a bit further when I have the resources to do so.

PS. Thanks for getting onboard calum. Up to 311 active CPU's now. Serious stuff

I don't have Crysis haha :/ I'm thinking about getting it though, then I get to put the system to the test.

Yeah the PS3 is incredible, I have mine running all my folding units. It's been on for god knows how long now. Probably upwards of 50 days.

Guess you just have all the luck, or perhaps you just downloaded the correct client.

Are you trying the Vista client here :

http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandeg...ng@Home503.EXE

Or one of the *high* performance Vista Clients?

http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther

I would be willing to bet one of them would work.

I had the normal one made for Vista but it gets stuck on "Waiting for Core: #" and everytime I minimise and maximise the window the number goes up by 2. It is really weird, I kept doing it and it went past 100 but nothing changed.

I will try the high performance one.

You're probably having a firewall issue. I'd check Vista's extremely restrictive firewall rules and see if you can whitelist it. This forum thread I found has some pretty decent details as well on the issue and you might be able to find a fix there :

http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?t=213587

And on the brighter side, the hostgator.com team is about to break the 1,000th ranking mark out of all 100,000+ folding teams :

Woohoo fixed it, my Firewall wasn't letting it download the stuff it needed.

I whitelisted the application and port 8080 and now it works, thanks Ford

I don't have a super computer like most of you guys, but I thought I join in, since I pretty much waste my time doing none productive stuff, I thought I might as well help in whatever small way I can.

Running under the same name in folding.

In this battle it's not the size or strength of each individual unit, but the combined work power they can accomplish. Anything and everything helps (except maybe a machine slower than 650mhz)

Thanks to everyone here for helping a good cause. If anyone has any ideas on a "hostgator for humanity" logo or banner I'd love to see them.

It certainly is Although I was a bit surprised when I checked it this morning. Until now my PS3 has only been given small (100k frame) projects that it finishes in about 2 hours, but this morning it was given a 1.2M frame project that'll take about a day and a half to complete!!!

Perhaps it's because I've had it running so much that they figure I can return that size project in time. Anyway it's pretty cool, but my jaw dropped when I saw it! Also I guess that's evidence that the PS3 doesn't only do small WU's.

I do know someone that might find that an interesting little challenge. I'll just mention it to her and see what she says

Plus you just can't beat those visuals
I think I get around 500,000 units consistently now.

Go us!

I'm not sure I can get higher than my #8 position in the team though. You guys left ahead of my are pulling some serious points

But this made me finally (after several months) go fix up my broken down Mac-Mini dual-core just so I could run F@H on it
