Default Is Hostgator becoming a victim of its own success?

We have had a very good service from HostGator on our shared web hosting accounts during first six months. However, during the past few weeks we noticed things gradually slowing down, especially for the www.dmhcartoons.com, or even the www.mhccorp.com sites, both of them have only small web traffic.

This makes me fear that the servers on the shared webhosting packages are getting too crowded, especially now that the hosting packages include unlimited bandwidth and/or diskspace. I hope HostGator won't become another victim of its own success!

Occasionally there are other sites on the server that can make it slower. We address these as we come across them (we have internal systems that point them out to us as well) and that generally helps improve server performance significantly.

I am going to submit a ticket to our support team on your behalf. They will investigate the server you are on and get you an answer right away.

Thank you for your patience. I assure you that we aren't becoming victims of our own success. If anything, our service and support is getting better as we grow and continue to learn and improve.

Hello,

Did you ever put a ticket in with us before doug opened one? Both your pages are loading instantly for me and your server has both a great uptime / load.

How long does it take for the sites to load for you?

FWIW, I just tried both sites from my location here in Canada. The initial domain name lookup took 1 or 2 seconds, but once I'm on your site all pages load very quickly.

You should also be aware connecting to websites from different ISP's, locations and even time of day all effect speeds...

Ted.

I am a new customer who used to be on Dreamhost. I have to say I am really impressed with Hostgator support. They are super responsive and I really appreciate the 24-hr chat. It has helped me in many situations.

Speedwise, I am pleased so far. I did some tests and mysql is faster than dreamhost. I think the file reads/writes seem to be slower though. That's just my experience. Upload/Download is slower than dreamhost on FTP. But overall, I like hostgator better.
