Default Host Transfer Not Working...

Hello all this is my first time posting here.

I was with another hosting company (free) but was referred to HostGator by a friend. I did comparisons and by far was more impressed with this program.

So..I signed up...went to my domain site (GoDaddy) and changed DNS nameservers, unistalled WordPress at the old hosting acct, and cancelled the acct. (it's okay, I already have all I need, was just getting started).

So I went through the process of installing WordPress here with the same domain, but when I click to view my site it keeps going back to the old host.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong, or if I need to contact the old host?

First/easiest step: Clear cache.

If using IE, hit <ctrl><F5>.

Did that work?

If not, you may need to wait for your ISP's cache to refresh, which may take a day or so.

I appreciate that..

Well I have FireFox...so I'll try with IE...if that doesn't work I'll wait it out then try again.

You can also try running ipconfig /flushdns from a DOS prompt in Windows to clear your computer DNS cache. If you have cable or DSL you can also unplug the modem for a couple of minutes and then restart.

If none of the above works, we will be more than glad to assist you in locating the problem in our Live Chat support. Just go to the HostGator home page, and click on the Live Chat link at the top right. All we will need is the primary domain name which you signed up with.
