Angry Host Gator Weekend Support?

I noticed my email went down about 48 hours ago because I was suddenly getting no no client emails or SPAM whatsoever. So, I check the control panel and viewed Service Status. I found the following items pulsing red and yellow.

exim (exim-4.63-1_cpanel_maildir)failed (pulsing red)Disk sda2 (/usr) 88 % (pulsing yellow)
Disk sda3 (/var) 100 % (pulsing red)
I can send email from the account but can not receive any. Every email sent to my email account gets kicked back to the sender with a fatal error.

------
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

retry timeout exceeded
-------

So, I put in a ticket and waited. The next morning I still had no email but through the ticket thread a support person told me the mail box was full and to adjust my mailquota.. well, there was no response when I asked how to do that... and checking with webmail the mailbox appears to be empty.

I then began an online chat with a support person this morning.. he told me to submit another ticket even though the existing one was still open. That was about six hours ago and nothing has changed. No communication from Hostgator support at all.

Does hostgator have any real tech support on weekends? I need to be able to receive email to do business and right now I am dead in the water because the email issue has not been resolved. Obviously something is wrong but so far Hostgator has not done a thing to help me other than tell me to adjust my mailquota..(I don't think that is the issue) judging from the service status... and submit another ticket.

Hostgator has been fine for the number of years I have used them but the lack of tech support regarding a serious issue is making me wonder how much they value my continued business. I understand that everyone needs a day off but a hosting company that does not have 24/7 tech support makes me a bit nervous.

I did not come here to slam Hostgator.. I just need my email working and so far they have not been able to resolve the issue.

Positive Yes, they do...

Not sure what was root of all of my problems but Hostgator did respond to my situation this evening. I am now receiving email again but the service status still indicates some issues.

They were quite helpful and hopefully I will not need them again.

I appreciate their getting back to me during the weekend as my email is about the most important thing I use the Internet for.

For future reference, dont jump to conclusions. They cant always be there at an instant.

Its desired but not realistic.

Glad your liking hostgator

I did not jump to conclusions... it did take hours to get a response. And almost a full day to get the problem completly solved. Email is critical to me and I can not be without out it. I do have alternate accounts but many of my clients are unaware of them. A number of people were trying to contact me via email during this time period. Being unable to solve the problem on my own I had only techsupport to turn to.

Then shared hosting is a bad choice for you. You might try getting your own server, email is much more responsive when you control everything.

seriously, i would use this as a wake-up call and fortify your email solution.... perhaps farm it out to another specialized vendor and/or perhaps use a store and forward service
