Hello all,
Just signed up for Hostgator a few hours ago. Will probably transfer my site over the weekend. I was originally hosted my 1and1, but the lack of support and ignorance there got the better of me, three weeks ago I decided we would need to move. We opted to go with Midphase after reading all the rave reviews they were getting on hosting sites, I couldn`t go wrong? Could I hell, the last three weeks have been a nightmare. I spent a whole day moving my site (took a day off work for it), forums etc over. Once the domain had propagated I had nothing but problems with outages. Every single day, my site was going down, some times for 10 to 30 minutes, this could happen several times in day. I had this for a week before I demanded a refund or something be done. I was credited three months, and they transferred me to another server. What good is three free months of hosting if my site goes down all the time?!!Two days went by before the server crashed. Mine and dozens of other sites were down for hours. This was repaired, but by now my blood was boilding, lol they offered to move me to yet another server. In the last few days my site still goes down, as does many others. The support forum is full of `unhappy` off customers. I have just given up on them, and spent the last two days looking elsewhere, reading reviews and generally asking folks about hosts. I heard every reason possible for the downtime.. 1: the server is new and need to settle down 2: the server has a lot of spammers that we need to weed out 3: boot switch failed 4: server was re-booted (heard this one nearly everyday) 5: PSU failed 6: Power Spike!! 7: HDD failed 8: and many more I have forgotten about. So after my Midphase nightmare, please can you guys tell me I`ll have better luck here? ![]() Great to be here by the way

Hi and welcome. I think you'll be happy here. Most are from what I can see. We have had a site here for a few months now. Only experienced one significant outage during that time "significant" being longer than 30 minutes. Think it had to do with a php issue or drive failure, can't remember. That was when we were on a shared plan. We now have a reseller account and several sites, and for the most part things have been fine. You will experience at least minor glitches here and there anywhere you host, even if you have your own server, but HG is a good place to be.
