In the HTTP headers of Apache on Hostgator servers there is way too much information such as PHP version, installed modules, etc... This can be seriously dangerous if an attacher looks at it...

Correct, one of the suggestions in the mod_security docs is to hide that info. My server version in the header is set to NOYB. From the headers on my server it is more difficult to determine exactly what I'm running.

Yea, I have no interest in editing my Apache config. I'd rather use the mod_security work around, its easier and doesn't screw up apache if I do it wrong.
