Default Hi I'm new ..

Hi everyone

Ok I'm new at this so please forgive me for asking maybe some silly questions.

I'm about to sign up with hostgater and was wondering..

I will be getting a forum up and running (phpbb 3) and was wondering once i upload the file will i be able to edit to change color schemes and some mods after i upload it ?

Also, After i upload i don't want the site active just yet as i said above i need to make some mods before going public. So will it be active ?

I have domain name which i registered with whois ( Very nice outfit whois) which i have to point to HG .

Thanks and sorry if silly questions but I'm brand new at this .

WOW That was fast ..Thnaks !

If it's going to be active can up put up a message something along the lines like " Forum to be open on such and such date "

Yes some people will know about it and i don't want to put up a unfinished forum (Well the way i want it) and have people surfing it until done.

Thanks

Most fora have a variety of administrative settings, which may include options for "under construction", or the effective equivalent, not visible at all to non-members.

Ok I signed up for a baby account for one year (%20 discount kool) and used paypal.

Everything went fine but it never took me to paypal to ok it.

I clicked on link for billing (Modernbill) and checked my account and it said

Invoice Stats:
My Invoices: [1]
Total Paid: [0] $0.00
Total Now Due: [1] $95.52

It shows i still owe the money. Is there another step I'm missing ?

thanks !

I had a similar situation when I signed up, in the invoice the pay by paypal button didn't work.

However there is another button on the invoice for paying by paypal, the subscription one, I clicked on that and it all went through OK.

Check your invoice and see if you have two paypal buttons, if you do click on the one that says subscription.

Yes I went back to modernbill and signed in and figured it out. Hostgater should make this clearer as there is no instructions on this.

Here's the email they sent after placing order. The instructions aren't very clear at all. It should say go here and click this and that like you just explained. Almost 2 hours wasted trying to figure this out.

Thnaks

MS
