I should have probably added more detail to my first post, sorry. I recently just purchased a semi dedicated account. I got my first email that stated I should receive all my account info within 20 min. Twenty minutes passed, so I waited an hour, then sent an email letting HG know.
I was told that it usually takes 24-48 hours for a semi dedicated to be set up. Cool, understood. 48 hours pass by, I email them this morning letting them know, and that's when I receive the email saying in order for my my purchase to go through they want a scanned copy of my credit card (both sides) and gov id emailed to them. Again, sorry for the lack of details in my first post. |

I know none of us living in the USA would do it....
![]() But I guess it depends on what country your from and a "Homeland Security" issue???? Or some other issue Only HG and you know about.

I received an email saying I might have to do that, but it was never officially requested.. the phone call to them was suitable apparently. I guess here in the northern part of north america, that's good enough.

When you submit a ticket, you can upload a file with it... isn't that a better way to send the scans than by email?

Thanks for everything guys, everything has been resolved. HostGator had me call them and answer some questions and it was as simple as that.
