Hello,
After some research on the net I came across this forum & I am glad there are many people who are helping new members. I appreciate if someone can help me with my queries. I am a consultant/developer. I have a requirement for one of my clients & its a retailing company. I am looking for a hosting service provider, who can allow us to host an application which sends Newsletters of product updates & offers. This is NOT a spamming activity. The email addresses are collected from my client's store-front or through their website. The newsletters will have a facility to unsubscibe also. I have the following queries. 1. Does HG allow such applications on their servers? Something like PHPList which allows Scheduled Sending, throttling If yes, 2. What is the maximum number of emails allowed per day? Currently we want to start with around 5,000 emails overall, but all will not be sent in a single day. However, the number of customer database is likely to increase in the coming months. 3. Are there any rules & policies which we have to abide by? 4. Are there any hosting packages which offer the Mailing List application in the control panel? 5. Which is the best package that for my requirement? I have to RESELL it. 6. Is there any pay-as-you-go-by kind of reseller package? I do not want my cash to be blocked. Please help me in this regard. Cheers!! |

Currently the limit is 200 per hour which would allow @ 4000 emails per day. From the sound of it you would outgrow the limit quickly.
There is Mailman available in CP, but I don't believe it throttles. PHPlist is in Fantastico or better yet you can install it manually. You will have to set it to throttle messages of course. All the reseller plans are pay by the month.

shared hosting email limit is 200 per hours, and 4800 per days.
for higher requirement/limit, then have to get a dedicated hosting solution from hostgator How to set up a Mailing List in cPanel http://support.hostgator.com/index.p...barticleid=218
