Hello all,
Hoping for the third try here I can get this post up before I get logged out automatically and have my post wiped out yet again ! ![]() I have been studying my website stats and trying to learn more about how to read them. Understand many veterans here recommend Google Analytics instead of those in Cpanel. I will probably do this in a bit, but for now am just trying to understand what I have already. As in what the stats mean. Been searching the net to learn, but still unsure on a couple things. I think I finally understand the diff between Hits, Files, Pages, Visits (well maybe not files vs. pages yet). I am posting the stats below. This is for a Wordpress blog I just started this month. I started it mostly to learn Wordpress, but it's a subject I enjoy and would like to continue. There are only about 4 posts and 4 static information pages, these stats seem awfully high to me. Any thoughts / comments ? Also, Hits by Response code. I'm thinking I need to worry about the 404 and 500 codes. Should I be doing something to fix these (sorry to sound dumb, but I don't even know how to find the errors to fix). Thanks for your thoughts and comments. ![]() Kim Total Hits5116Total Files2450Total Pages220Total Visits86Total KBytes15067Total Unique Sites40Total Unique URLs275Total Unique Referrers32Total Unique User Agents25.Avg Max Hits per Hour14383Hits per Day3411182Files per Day163822Pages per Day1471Visits per Day516KBytes per Day10044864Hits by Response CodeCode 200 - OK2450Code 302 - Found79Code 304 - Not Modified2548Code 404 - Not Found38Code 500 - Internal Server Error1 |

Check your error_log file in public_html to see information about the 500 errors. What pages are causing the 404 errors? |

Thank you for the link, it is better than others I have seen. I am in the file manager and I can't see an error_log file in public_html. I am going thru all the files and don't see any error logs.
I'm not sure how to tell what pages are causing the 404 errors, how would I determine this? Thanks I am very new but trying my best to learn. Appreciate your help. |

In the Logs section of your cPanel is a Error Log option. This will show you the last 300 errors on all your sites.
