Default Hello everyone.

I am new to building a site like this. I purchased an account today.
And I started off with a clunk. After paying for my purchase and intending to use the domain name of my yahoo store, I decided to change to a new domain name. $5 and about 3 hours later, here I am. The support person didn't send me a link for getting started without having to first change my DNS. Since I went with a new domain name, the DNS is automatic.

Where do I start? Plus, I have to wait for my new primary domain to propogate for about 24 hours.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am used to ebay and Yahoo stores type sites. But, this is a whole new animal to me. So, I will likely pop in here with a lot of stupid questions. LOL.

P.S.

While I was waiting for the domain name change, I registered to this forum with the only information I had. Everything is correct except my domain is now:
whypay4googleadwords.com

Could a Moderator change that for me?

Hey, if it works, it works. I'll never know for sure until I try.
But, I gotta build the site first. And that's my weak link.

I'm confused about your first question. Your DNS is ready to go? Did you get your welcome email with your server information yet?

As far as your account information on here, don't worry about it. Only you can see it and it's outdated for most of us anyway.

Yes, they sent me the welcome email. But, when I go to the getting started page, The first step is to change my DNS. Which is no longer necessary since I switched to a Host Gator provided domain name.

I am unable to locate where I click to go to the next step.

Is there a getting started for dummies version of this? LOL.

This is where I am directed to get started:
http://www.hostgator.com/gettingstarted.shtml

Is setting up my new domain going to require me to know HTML?
Or can I just get a template from somewhere so that all I have to do is fill in the blanks so to speak?

No. I want to keep my yahoo store open. I just didn't want to transfer the hosting of my yahoo store since that would apparently cripple yahoo support capabilities.

I am building this for another venture I want to try.

Thank you. Does that also offer instructions for installing a squeeze page and auto-mailer?

Quick question:

Is it possible to set up my site so that my home page is the actual site someone clicked on and each succeeding category actually redirects them to one of my other sites?

For instance:

The 1st category below the home page would be titled something like : Home Entertainment Products
When someone clicks that category, they would be redirected to my Yahoo Store.

The 2nd category below the home page would be titled :
Prepaid Legal
Clicking on that one would take them to my Prepaid Legal site.

3rd category would be titled:
Identity Theft Shield
And it would take them to my Identity Theft Shield site.

4th category: ETC and so on.

Essentially, making the home page for this site a central hub for all my other sites and any future site that I create. Thereby only having to promote this ONE site, I would basically be promoting ALL my sites.

Sure. Those are called "links".

If I were you, before I started futzing with the site builder templates, I'd play around with a simple HTML page.

Download a free HTML editor--three excellent ones are First Page, HTML-Kit, and HTMLgate--and from there, start with a new page. You'll see that putting together the basic innards is very simple and straightforward.

I mention those three because each also has some degree of preview/WSIWG capacity (especially HTMLgate), which will be easier to work with at the beginning.

Well, I used the site studio.
I think I have a good starting point. I can refine it from there. But, it's late and I need to go to bed.

If anyone wants to check it out and give me some constructive criticism, I welcome it. I want the site perfect before I start advertising it. I have placed a link in my signature.

The site looks decent for a first attempt.

The content however is questionable. Millions from Google Ads? Seems dubious.

Did you read the Home page?

It absolutely can happen. If you buy the ebook, and read it, you will see exactly how. I will say that it is completely logical and totally legal. It's so simple. I could tell you how right now in 1 sentence how. But, that would eliminate any commission I would gain from selling you the ebook. The plus for buying the ebook isn't so much the secret itself. It's that all the necessary HTML coding for various tools is already done for you. Just copy and paste.

There is a risk involved in using the strategy though. I am certain it will work. But, I want to build up a little bit of a budget 1st, just in case it fails. Because if it fails, it could cost me as much as $5K.

I only started this site right now so that I could get it set up and fine tuned before I actually put the strategy to the test.

I did, however, apply this strategy on a limited basis on my yahoo store site just today. So, I will need a few weeks to see if it is working there.

Even if this is legal, if it's scammy at all you'll never see that check from Google.

I don't think he's saying a million from the ads, but worth of ads...which would be difficult to quantify. Or even "millions" from something sold via the "free" ads.

Besides, if it were from the ads, he wouldn't need the revenue from selling the ebook or Yahoo store.

So the "millionaire" the site refers to would have used this advertising technique to sell something.

Note that there is no direct reference to getting money from Google for running ads, it's all making money from ads, which could (and probably does) mean revenue from selling a product promoted through ads.

Your client with the beans is selling something much more straightforward, with a much more direct approach (not being sarcastic).

1st off. It isn't a scam. It's straight on the up and up. Companies did this same thing with print media LONG before the internet was invented by Al Gore. LOL.

Your pretty close. You hit the bulls eye. But, not dead center.

The ebook walks you through the process of getting everything set up.

And No. Google never sends you a check.
