Header logo link to forums

It would be nice for the logo in the header to point back to the forums i keep clicking it to take me back to the main page but thats not working out to well (lol)

Do you realize you can click "HostGator Peer Support Forums" above this where it has the site map to this page, below the standard HostGator header and links, to go back to the home page? That's what I typically do.

esl i know... but clicking the logo would be easier/better for newer users and i am just use to clicking the logo :P

While I agree having a forum link would be a good idea, making it the logo would violate a lot of usability guidelines (the forum being subsidiary to the main site)...in fact, a few months ago several of the links were changed by mistake to refer to the forum rather than the main site, and were (by the standards of these things) changed fairly quickly.

That's an awful idea. You're already in the forums. Why would you need a link to take you back to the forums? Makes no sense.

You are using the "new posts" function, right? Or, at worst, use the breadcrumbs.

And if the OP is just looking for a quick way to find the forum when his/her browser isn't anywhere near HG, type 'f' in the browser address bar. Assuming it hasn't been too long since you visited, one of the drop down addresses should be http:// forums.hostgator.com/. Presto!

Feel free to use the shortcut I use on my Firefox places bar:

http://forums.hostgator.com/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=26,18,28,34,37,15

This excludes forums like 28 - Linux Servers. Obviously, you need to customize it to your own liking.

Or, when you (not necessarily Tony) are on the forum index page (or wherever you want to start) just drag the little thing that should be a favicon from the browser address bar to the bookmark bar.
