Default Having touble with addon domain and name server change...q

Hello everybody,

I have a comprehensive hosting package with Hostgator and a regestered dot com domain with 123 reg. I've created an addon domain for in my hostgator cpanel and uploaded to website to that domain's directory. Everything is fine so far... I'm able to view my website by typing the url and puttiing my username and directory structure. The probem is having my domain point to this hostgator addon domain. I've gone into the control panel of my 123 reg account and added the two hostgator name servers. When I type this domain name into the address bar, all I get is the url of my hostgator server space (so at least changing the nameservers has done something) but unfortunately it doesn't do to my website... it just seems to point to the hostgator url with disregard for directory structure.

I'd be very grateful for any help. Thanks a lot.

Kind regards,

Richard.

Nameserver changes can take 24-48 hours to Fully propogate.

I think only problem is that your domain has not fully propogated.

or you can post the domain name in question, so we members from different part of world can tell you what we see.

I do see a "search portal" like thing.

I do see that you have set the nameservers properly too, if ns999 & ns1000 are the one sent to you by HG.

I would contact live chat & tell them about the problem they might fix it @ the spot! (refer them to this thread too)

As do I.

Suggest you remove then re-add the addon domain. Make sure you let cpanel create the folder for you.

I was going to say that too, but I'm "afraid" that the move removes the files in his subdirectory.

Thanks everybody for the help. I already tried to remove the domain and re-add it but it didn't work. I've been intouch with the people at hostgator's live help, they told me it's pretty weird and that they've opened a file on it and are looking into it. I hope they can help me out here. The people at 123 Reg have told me that it is an issue with the hostgator's nameservers not resolving properly to my hosting. I'll let you all know what the outcome is.

Thanks again.

FINALLY IT HAS BEEN SOLVED!

They were taking a while to get back to me so I decided to get back intouch with them - and it worked! The guy I spoke to was really good and checked over everything for me until he finally found the problem. He told me that the site URL and the home URL were in the wrong database... whatever that means! I don't really care, I'm just happy that they fixed the problem. So if you have the same issue get in touch with the hostgator and point this out to them.

All the best.
