Question I have a few questions before I make a decision

First off thanks for taking the time to read this. I need to move my site to another host and would like to ask a few questions before I make my final decision as to where I want to go.

Is the shared server safe? As in secure from would be hackers? If there is a problem, do all customers receive a notification via email and instructions on what needs to be done?

I'm looking at the standard package for $4.95/month. Is that price going to jump up after the first year of hosting?

I have a business site but don't need the extra features of your business hosting plan. Can I still host it under the standard plan with my shopping cart and purchase an SSL certificate separately?

I've had my site hosted with the same company for about 3 years and am asking these questions because of recent events that have gone on in the past week. I hope these questions aren't too obnoxious (for the lack of a better word). I wouldn't be asking if my current host hadn't had some problems.

Thanks in advance,

Anita

Yes, but only as safe as the complexity of passwords you use and your choice or scripts on your site.

If you look toward the bottom of the package description table, you will see that the Hatchling plan doesn't allow private SSL or dedicated IP's. You would have to use either the Baby or Business Plans.

Gotcha. I don't have a dedicated SSL where I'm at either so it doesn't bother me too much. Once I get to the point where I would like one I could always upgrade later on.

Thanks for the response.
