Hatchling package questions.

Hi,

I am looking to get another HostGator package for an online shop and have a few questions regarding the Hatchling package,

1) Can I have a private SSL certificate on it?

2) Is it compatible with the Magneto shopping cart program?

3) Can SSH access be enabled so that files can be transferred securely through my FTP client?

4) Would it be an issue to upgrade from the Hatchling package to the Baby or Business package in the future?

Economically, it's a better deal to start with the Business package if you're going to do e-commerce. That's because for $15 per month it includes the dedicated IP (otherwise $2 monthly) and private SSL cert (otherwise anywhere from $10 up annually for cert and $20 annually for HG installation)...plus the time-savings of not worrying about the darn certificate.

(And if you already have another HG account that doesn't do e-commerce, you could make it an addon domain, allowing you to cancel that account.)

Someone from support would have to weigh in, but if you had a private cert on one shared account, and wanted to upgrade it, you'd have to stay on the same server (I think) to avoid having to reinstall it.

Just adding a little to Gwyneth's great advice. Keep in mind that a cpanel account only allows one SSL / IP, so if you need more than one site with private SSL, you need more than one cpanel account.

You can have neither private SSL, nor dedicated IP in a Hatchling account.

No, that is not a problem at all, you can easily move the certificate to another server.
