Great host, great customer service

I've tried many different shared hosts over the years, the most recent being made2own, which I had to switch from because they refused to admit to the amount of downtime my site was having; my site was noticeably down for 30 minutes or more each day, which is about 2% downtime, but they insisted they had less than that.

As soon as I switched to Hostgator, I had no noticeable downtime. That's not to say there isn't any - I'm sure there has to be some - but it must be a tiny percentage. This is the reason I say Hostgator's a great host, because downtime is very important to me. The server I'm on is also faster than any I've been on before, and it's amazing that I have "unlimited" bandwidth.

As far as customer service goes, I am always amazed at how quickly my tickets get responded to. Sometimes I'll get a response in less than five minutes! And also, I've never had a response that was too short or irrelevant. They always seem to know what they're talking about and are able to fix my problem.

I currently have two shared hosting packages - both just Baby ones - and 3 domains hosted. I plan to use Hostgator for all future websites I may create, as well as recommend Hostgator to anyone who needs a host. Hostgator is by far the best host I have used, and I have used at least six different hosts since 2002, which may not be a lot in comparison to others, but it seems like a lot to me.

If you're reading this and are debating whether or not to use Hostgator, I really recommend you at least give them a try. I'm sure you won't regret it!
