Hi,
Has anyone else had problems getting Google sitemaps found / verified on their add on domains. I have had no trouble with my main domain, but if i put the sitemap xml and verification html file in a folder of an add on, then give google http://www.myaddon.com/sitemap.xml they can't find it. It does show up in a browser, so it's there!! Cheers, john |

Hi,
The add on domain has been live for a few weeks on HG with no other problems. The same problem has occured with a subdomain e.g http://sub.maindomain.com/sitemap.xml. I don't know whether Yahoo have picked up the urllist.txt files. Cheers, John |

Hi,
Ok, I can't get a verification html file verified on the add-on domain - Google say there is a problem with the 404 return page giving a 500 error or something which is a security risk. I have then verified by using a META tag in the homepage, however they still can't find the sitemap.xml file. Any other ideas? Thanks John |

Hey,
Is the store_into="/var/www/docroot/sitemap.xml.gz" path correct? Cpanel treats add on domains and sub-domains like another folder in your root directory with htaccess redirects to propagate the domains. You may try to configure the sitemap path to something like 4ttp://maindomain.com/sub/sitemap.html instead of 4ttp://sub.maindomain.com/sitemap.html You may also find more information at goggle. http://www.google.com/webmasters/sit...generator.html |

It shouldn't matter, the addon domain should be fine with www.addondomain.com/sitemap.xml. |
