I'm currently hosted on godaddy, while they give a lot of disk space and bandwidth for cheap, their shared hosting of the mysql db's are horrible. My phpnuke page slows to a crawl whever it's USA peak hours.
No point in lots of bandwidth and disk space if the page is so sluggish users can't even access it right? Can any current users here can comment on how well hostgators mysql DB's are? I'm willing to pay the extra bucks for hostgator so the 100 users on my site (20-30 concurrent at most) can actually surf the darn webpage. Is there any sample pages running phpnuke that I can test and see how fast it is during peak hours on hostgator? |

I was running an Invision Power Board message board on a shared server and the MYSQL responce time was as fast or faster that it is running on my local server which only host 1 web site.
I think it would be worth your wild to give Host Gator a chance. You won't be disappointed. |

Certainly all good here. I notice that the server I'm on has plenty of resources available and the vBulletin board I'm running is very responsive. Of course, IF the board ever becomes popular (hah!) then I would move to dedicated hosting rather than overload the server for everyone.
