Golf Very slow and now Down

Golf seems to be having problems this morning. Site has been extremely slow and now is down. Can I get an update?

I've also noticed this. This is really getting out of hand, I think.

A client of mine keeps phoning to complain that his site's timing out.

edit: Seems better. But still, lame.

Every since the attack two weeks ago, this site has been timing out at LEAST once per day. I have sent over a dozen support tickets to HG every time it times out, and each time I get the same response, "resolving fine on this end" of coarse it is because it is back up. But I am getting half hour outages consistently daily, and I have all the Siteuptime.com and Siteprobe.com reports to prove it. HG did credit me amonth, which was a nice gesture, but now I would like this fixed. Site is currently (10:48EST) down.

Same here. I just staring moving my sites to my reseller account and I'm NOT feeling too confident about the server. The HTTP portion keeps going down and I also have the siteuptime reports to verify it. I also go to the site as soon as I receive a report and its down.

However, what's strange is that the FTP portion still works, it's just the HTTP portion that's not working. Support hasn't been able to help me out and just says that the server has been up for 8 straight days. That might be true, BUT the HTTP portion has NOT and I'm getting really annoyed now.

This is really becoming a problem. Golf is down again right now. I can't even log into cpanel. Whats up HG. Please fix this problem now, or I am going to be asking to be moved to a new server.

i know it is annoying, i am on golf also - had my customers moaning about it

I think that if HG is having problems with golf still, which they seem to be, they should give us the option of switching servers. Maybe just 'til things get sorted out.

It was down again last night from around 3:20am to 3:35am EST.

once again golf is down. This is very upsetting to me. For the last week or so, Golf goes down an awful lot. Please check into this and reply HG. I have statistics to show it has been down alot.

Down again today at 9:30am and back up at 9:43am EST. Is this thread invisible or something? Fix the server please. I actually setup an account at Lunarpages and may move all my clients there because I'm sick of all this downtime.

We haven't seen any problems with this server. Up 17 days load is around 1-2 plenty of memory available, and I don't see any high usage sites.

cypher, your site loads instantly. Can everyone email me at brent at hostgator.com second you have a problem? Perhaps it's a cron or someone running something once a day we aren't seeing. I'm sure I can fix it just need to see it in action.

Golf is currently down doing kernal upgrade on most of our servers tonight, it will be backup in a few minutes after this is done.

It's back up and I do believe we've found the problem everyone has been experiencing.

According to the datacenter when it failed to boot after a kernal upgrade....

"It appears the system halted during boot as the system's BIOS detected the chassis front fan was not working.

The system is up and online at this time. We are working with inventory to acquire the needed hardware to replace the fan or perform a chassis swap. "

It's confirmed the ticket was updated

"After speaking to Brent Oxley on the phone, we are scheduling the fan replacement for 9:00PM CDT tonight. "
