So I signed up on the Copper Reseller package back in July. Everything has been pretty smooth since then. The server has only had issues twice that I can remember. Can't really complain.
However, recently, a majority of the domains I host had issues with their sent emails being flagged as spam. After a little bit of research, I found that the default ip address that my accounts were set up on was actually shared among other resellers on the same server! Now, I'm not expecting the world from HostGator on this reseller plan. However, I do think it would be a safe assumption that when I sign up with a reseller account they would at least give me an ip address that is not in use by anyone else. I have since bought 4 other ip addresses for other client's SSL needs. I would like to avoid going through the hassle of buying another ip and then having to have all of my other domains updated to that ip. However, it seems as though that is my only course of action to resolve the issues. |

The amount of accounts and domains hosted on our reseller servers does not make it feasible cost wise for us to purchase such large IP allocations and then assign each resellers client a specific IP.
This is why we have the dedicated IP service. If you need things different C classes the seohosting.com is what you're looking for. Either way, if the server gets blacklisted having a dedicated IP is not going to change anything, all the mail will still go out through the primary IP. Our abuse team has been working very hard as of late on new methods and measures to prevent the servers from getting blacklisted and also the new mail gateway should help. However, keep in mind that there is almost always a bad seed that will find a way to spam and ruin things for others. This is one of the downfalls of hosting in a shared environment.

What ford said is correct buying a dedicated ip doesn't do a thing for blacklists.
We have actually been working on a mail gateway for a while now that will solve the blacklisting issues. All of our shared boxes are currently on this setup as of a few days ago, and we are just working out the kinks. We plan on putting all the reseller boxes on this solution in about a weeks time.

Hello,
This mail gateway has been deployed a few days ago on all servers. This problem you had should be resolved and future incidents should be prevented now.

Would it be ok to change this to a positive since we deployed a solution to your problem?
