Going on 1 year with HostGator!

I guess I should start out with telling my whole experience in the world in the internet.

Alright, I got started out with dealing with the internet a little over a year ago when a friend contacted me who was wanting me to experiment with PHP, as I had been working with him on doing some modding for a game using Microsoft's language, C#. Then soon after that, I was contact by another friend who had a PHP app that had been written to handle some of the basics of a competition, mainly calculating the scores. I ended up fixing up the app, and putting it on x10Hosting's free web hosting service. Well, when we took the app to a competition, things just went horribly wrong, the site slowed to an absolute halt, and we ended up having to upgrade to a paid service with x10Hosting just to get things working.

Now, this other friend that I mentioned first, started this online group, called "Got Bush?" which is just a group of flight simulator enthusiast who enjoy back country flying. He ended up hosting his website (http://gotbush.org/) with HostGator, so whenever I miss typed a URL on his website, I would get the HostGator 404 page. This is how I found out about HostGator.

I now have a Level 3 VPS with HostGator, and my business is growing faster than ever. The only thing that was a significant issue was that the IP HostGator provided me was blacklisted by AT&T, so emails would get rejected, but this was resolved in about a day from when I found out about it.

I do most of the system administration myself though, so I rarely have to deal with support, but whenever I do send HostGator the occasional support ticket, the issue is always fixed in a very short amount of time.
