Default GatorBrent, a moment of your time please

You locked my other thread asking me to email you if I wanted to discuss it further (you not being able to charge my CC automatically). I would rather you just set up card up for automatic payment again like I ask (and nicely) instead of discussing this more (going round in circles) but if discussing it is the only way to get it done then I would like to do it on the message boards as I have been contacted by other members outside of here which have the same complaint and are watching the outcome of this.

Is it possible to wipe my card details from your system and reinstall the auto payment set up as new? as if I was a new customer.
There must be someway you are able to switch it back to automatic payments, I am willing to brainstorm with you for ideas, my card is used by big companies like ebay, google and another hosting company, if you can let me know who your payment client is I can ask the other companies who have no problem charging my card automatically if they have any ideas of how you can do it.

The general feeling is that HG thinks they are to big now so customer support etc isn't as important for the little guy, I think thats wrong and you are still here for the little guy, I would hate for you to prove them right.

Cheers

hotdog,

I also had the "card code mismatch" issue when trying to setup my uncle as a reseller for his many companies. I completely understand your frustration, I was there!

I was given all info to process the order online on behalf of my uncle. But after many failed attempts to process online I called and spoke with Ben. HostGator has their hands tied when it comes to decline errors. They are given very little information and it's not like they are using some small merchant, they use Authorize.net. I believe this to be because of the rising credit card fraud, the merchants not only have to watch the charges but also how much/what information they give out. It doesn't come right out and say, the address it wrong, the security code is wrong, etc.

In my case the issue with the card ended up being I did not put in the middle initial of the card holder.

So my advice to you would be triple check all information. Name on card, address, telephone number, etc. Again, I completely understand your frustration but I do not feel this makes HostGator a horrible company or they don't care about their customers.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the info guys. Is nice to know it is possible then. I have also been contacted by other members who have had similar problems with HG

Since HG keeps deleting my posts in the experience threads (even after following all the rules and being polite) I doubt Gator Brent will try help me, so I am off to start threads around the internet (webhosting forums etc) in aid of finding a fix for this problem so not only I, but everyone else can have a fix to this little problem.

Don't worry HG, I wont name you as the host, will just say "my webhost", apart from having my card charged automatically (if I can find the fix), instead of a thank you or perk or anything i would just like the right to add my experience in the experience thread, would be polite, facts only, ticket numbers if needed (for last months billing request).
My first post in there i was posting my experience and one of the staff popped in, I did not ask for that as was dealing with it through help tickets (as we are meant to) which in turn I believe was the cause for it's removal, although it was within all the rules having ticket number, being polite(ish) and factual.

I dont ask for much.

fingers crossed I can find a fix for this (then a fix for the squirrelmail problem, the IM problem ...) will keep everyone updated
