Gator64 is having major RAID issues and we are in the process of moving all data from this server to a new server. The file systems are currently mounted as read-only to prevent further issues. We will update this thread as we get more information.

Any estimate for how long our sites will continue to be down?

We are finishing up the transfers of the final accounts at the moment. The server should be ready to swap in about an hour or so.

All of the data has been moved over to the other server. The server should be swapped in about 30 minutes.

The following is a description of problems we are having with our websites... Is this being caused by the major raid issues in the servers? I have opened a ticket, ticket number: YLN-817627... I am not sure what server our websites are hosted on, so I do not know what is going on... But the intermitent problem, is happening quite often right now... Like ever 5-10 minutes...
We are having problems with all the sites we host at your company... The problem is an intermitent problem... The problem is lag and page not found errors... It has been noticed the past week or so, sometimes our pages are not coming up (page not found) or they are just taking 20-30 seconds to load... It is not a connectivity issue, as when this happens I immediately try 20 other websites (including hostgator.com), and all of them do not have the same issue... Some of the pages that we host are heartlandcorporation.com, smallsworldentertainment.com, rhinopros.com and many others... When I am having this issue, I immediately try at least the three mentioned websites we host, and they all have the same issue... And as stated above, when I am having the issue, I even check 20 websites that are not hosted at hostgator.com, and even check hostgator.com and have no problems with them... So it is definetly an issue with the servers our something there at host gator... Can you please resolve this issue as soon as possible... I can be contacted by phone at 951-258-5644 or by email: jcoleman@heartlandcorporation.com Thanks... James Coleman Last edited by jcoleman; 03-21-2007 at 05:20 PM. Reason: Needed to subscribe... |

You also need to tell support when these problems have happened, not just that they happened. For example, at 4:06pm yesterday or whatever. |

So being that I am a little concerned about the support as of then, I decided to post my issues and questions in the forum, in hopes to recieve a direct answer and a solution to the issues at hand... As far as when this is occuring... How about we just say, approximately 20 times a day for the last week... Today being more of course, today has been the worst of them all... Let's say maybe every 10 minutes, on the 10 minutes... It is an intermittent issue as stated in my first post, and I don't really have the time to log every time it happens, on a sheet... I do however appreciate your response to my post here in the forum, although I was hoping for a response from someone actually at Host Gator, letting me know something other than what I know at this pont... Because my main post was basically a question asking if the issue I am having, is in anyway related to the Raid issue, and the swapping server issue... |

I know that sounds amazingly odd, but a support ticket is the proper way to ask direct questions about your specific account or to initiate communication with support. |

It looks to me like you're on carrera by the way, not gator64. I could be wrong. -Matt
