We are having to restore from backups that were last ran on sunday. All the data has been lost on both drives in the array. The restore should take a few hours.
We will issue a credit for anyone on this box that emails sales requesting it. We apologize for this inconvenience. If you have any questions please let me know.

Oh no.. hmm.. How could this have happen? I am in no need for a credit since it will only be a few hours, but I do ask for an explanation. Please, how has this occurred?
Thanks... Daniel Schiller SchillerMedia www.schillermedia.com |

Gator 63 has been down for 4+ hours now. Yesterday the FTP was intermittently down. Please fix this.

Going on 7 hours of downtime. 2 hours ago the call center people said that they were "almost done" "services are being restarted"....
Can we get an update on how much longer? Was this a hardware failure? Is service going to be restored alphabetically by username? If so, what letter have you already reached? Last edited by holyearth; 04-28-2006 at 11:41 AM. |

I haven't got a peep out of support. I've talked to about 4 different people through the Live Support Messaging System and nothing. I'm glad support is working on the issue, but an updated would be appreciated.

I finally gave a call into support (about 20 minutes ago). I guess it was a hardware issue and that certain components were swapped out. And yes, they are restoring accounts in a certain order.. what the order is? I don't know. Either by username or primary account name is my guess, which would put me close to the end of the list. Oh well..
I appreciate support dealing with me and letting me know what's going on. Thanks... Daniel Schiller SchillerMedia www.schillermedia.com |

They've got me back on...
It seems that the server used to have global registers enabled, but now it doesn't....don't know why........I've worked around it..... Moving forward, I hope we can continue to enjoy the legendary uptime Host Gator is known for.... Last edited by holyearth; 04-28-2006 at 08:50 PM. |

I'm up and running too. Not sure what's missing or gone, but I'm glad something is there.
Thanks... Daniel Schiller SchillerMedia www.schillermedia.com |

The restore completed a very long time ago. If anyone is having problems please email in to support.
Restores are an automated process and are fairly quick on shared servers. Reseller boxes are the ones that take a long time do to cpanel being very slow with restoring a large amount of accounts.

Gator 63's FTP is acting up just like it did before this whole event took place:
STATUS:> Connecting to FTP server 70.87.95.66:21 (ip = 70.87.95.66)... STATUS:> Socket connected. Waiting for welcome message... ERROR:> Can't read from control socket. Socket error = #10054. |
