Hi Justin,
Before the server is down for emergency disk maintainance. I have been encountering issue with establishing connection to mysql database intermittently for the past 12 hours. When i contact online chat support to lodge a case, they told me that there is some issues with the mysql services that is causing the issue. Then, 6 hours later, it works fine and able to view my website normally before it is down for emergency disk maintenance. Could you guys look into the mysql services and updates us on the TAT back online? As i am running business, and can't afford even an hour of downtime. I would like to request an reimbursement of my hosting bill. Simon Lim |

I am also having problems like "MySQL server has gone away". I have a few websites on Gator605 that have problems with MySQL for the past 24 hours. They were mostly unavailable. I hope I will get some compensation for this.

Likewise, for near enough the past 24 hours my site on 605 has been down. It would be up for 10 minutes, then down with database erros on all parts of the site (forum and wiki). I did contact support who then created a ticket on my behalf and a couple hours later I did get a reply and that admin did repair the database yet after 10 minutes the database errors returned. Then I sent a reply saying it had happened again and then later updated the ticket informing them it was on another part of the site and about 4 hrs later because of my reply bumping it back to the bottom (which I think is ridiculous but its the way it works) another admin said he was fixing the databases. It was good for a few hours and then this happened so yesterday I had about 6 hours maybe of uptime.
Let's hope this is fixed soon. If we get compensation that would be nice yet I am not sure it will happen. |

I am experiencing constant crashes of MySQL server: MySQL server has gone away. And after it comes back many tables need repair. All websites that use MySQL are DOWN! I try to repair tables and then it crashes again. Pretty desperate at this moment.

It seem the server is up about 1 hour ago..but intermittently get error establishing database connection....and sometimes prompt me to install new Wordpress again (although the DB is still in phpmyadmin and wp.config.php is pointed to the correct database.
My DB still in and able to access my Cpanel but loading the site. For me, it is not about the compensation. It is about the downtime that i have to encountered and visitor not able to visit my site. It is just like you can't open your shop for business. Can anyone make sure the server is up and running asap? If not, i will start calling your tech support every 5 minutes... |

It also looks like for me the server is now up and running however sometimes we are getting database errors.
Let's hope they fixed it. |

Hostgator,
I have no idea what you guys are doing? My website is able to load intermittently. I have been the mysql service issue since 15Feb 1600GMT. It is almost more than 24hours. First, the mysql service is not working and the hold server was shut down. Then, the server is up for 6 hours and then down again. About 1 hour ago, the site is up and right now it is DOWN..DOWN..AGAIN...now the current error message - connection timed out, host not available. How long do i need to wait? |

Ok- this is really getting borderline ridiculous. Our site has been up and down with long periods of downtime since early yesterday morning. I would certainly be ticked off if it was needed for business. While our site is not business based there are a lot of people that would be visiting it today ( as it is a holiday) and we are losing out on that and losing some "good will". While I do not understand the ins and outs of this problem it would seem that there should be some backup plan in an event like this. Why wouldn't we be migrated to another server while repairs are being made. We are the ones losing out. We paid for a year of annual hosting upfront...if we were paying monthly I would need to reconsider finding another host. Essentially we are stuck at this point and at your mercy. We came to this site based on great feedback. I find it severly lacking at this point as phone calls just direct us to this thread and there is no time offered for resolution.

We are currently aware of the problems on gator605, and we are working to get them resolved asap. It seems that alot of databases had crashed for an unknown reason. We are repairing these, and trying to find the cause of the crashes. We appreciate everyone's patience during this time.
