gator4.hostgator.com had a complete hard drive failure today. The datacenter attempted to recover the drive but it is completely lost.
It's going to be another hour before the server is backup with the new drive in place. At such time we will begin restoring everyone’s files / accounts off the backup hard drive that was in place. This process takes hours somewhere around 3+ hours. We will keep this thread updated on our progress. Please do not email us until the process has been completed. If you have any questions, comments, or venting do so in this thread. And remember this is our business when your site is down we are down. The only difference is we have 100's of angry people. A hard drive failure is one of those things that can't be avoided.... We apologize for it, and will be working all night if we have to, to get everyone back online.

Not sure how current the updates our till the server is back online, and we can see what backup can be restored. It will be within the last few days last night will not be in it for sure.

The restore has been taking for about about 40 minutes now. Shouldn't be done for 3 hours give or take.
Some of you might have your sites up in minutes others in hours. Please wait for us to say it's done. Thanks

It's about 80% done with transferring. This is the latest backup we are able to recover. We are having to revert to the weekly backup which was last done monday starting at around 1am eastern time.

OO THANK GOSH ...
I did a sql backup on december 24th! ... so .. its bascally 1 day of posts ... Not bad ... I can handle that ... its funny .. somthing told me to do a total backup christmas eve ... thank god I did! Still waiting for my site .. hopefully it will be soon! Did I not read somehwere that hostgator dose daily backups? ... not to start anything here .. just wondering if this was the case ...

I have no access to mail via horde, and have the same result from different browsers immediately after I click on the hoarde icon

kageuniverse.com has been up loads fine here.
clan your ftp works as well. I logged in using your username and pw that you have on file with us no problems... Horde is currently being fixed.

Ohh man, all my big update is gone like never was.
I hope you'll have a better backup or atleast give me a bonus for what happened. anyway, my web is up now but not from the latest backup / package I updated it again but it took me hours!! :-|. anyway thanks for taking care for your server in the night. www.KLite.co.il webmaster.
