Is Gator36 Down?

Has the database server been changed on Gator36 at all? I've been having many problems lately with my site at http://www.realwowonline.com

At times I can't reach it at all, or I get the following error. I understand what the error means, but I haven't touched my code at all to cause an error.

Dont use sockets unless its a remote DB (unless you have specific reason to). Use the server name 'localhost'

She is most likely using "localhost", the socket here is just the layer on which the network works with relation to the kernel. The error she is getting is usually the result of the mysqld process being down, and thus, no socket exists. The PHP error generated is kind of lame, but it's better than the T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM one (:

As an aside, this has been an issue for me for the last week or so, I'm curious as to whether there's something going on with the MySQL server on gator36 because this shouldn't be happening.
