We just started monitoring the FTP response times for this server, and it is taking as much as 8 seconds to setup a connection with the server, not to mention logging in.

Hello,
The issue should be resolved now. It looks like someone was importing a clients database which filled up the partition. I don't know how this wasn't noticed, but that is what the issue is. It shouldn't happen again. |

It matters to the rest of the people on the server though! You should definitely ticket this stuff in the future.

HostSentry.net monitors a little over a hundred servers now, there is no way for us to make tickets for each one that is running slow.

Then why even monitor it? If you're not going to take any corrective action, there is no use in monitoring it. Besides, the amount of time it took you to post a message here could have been used to send an email to support.
It's like saying I'm going to monitor the border for terrorists sneaking across, but I don't have time to notify anyone if I see one. But I feel better because I'm watching. |
