This server is undergoing a file system check on the largest partition. Once this is completed the server will be back online. We will continue to update this as we get more information.

We are still seeing some issues on this server with the /home partition. We are going to rsync the data to a newer server to avoid any chances of this occurring again.

The /home partition is mounted as read only so the web services will be online but no updates can be done until the rsync is completed. Any email sent to your domain will also be placed in our mail queue and be delivered as soon as the accounts are fully synced to the new server.

We do not currently have an ETA of when this will be fully completed but we will continue to update this.

Can we get an update? Why is this taking so long? I'm working on something I'd really like to update but is almost impossible to work on without being able to test my scripts out on the server. I'm sure other people on gator215 would like to update their web sites as well. Can we at least get an update? I can be patient as long as I at least know there's someone who will at least inform me of what's going on and how long I'll be unable to update a single file on my paid hosting or receive email.

Please Please fix this as soon as possible. We need to make urgent updates on our website and we are unable to do this.

We are still moving all of the data to a new server at this time. The /home partition is marked as read only and is failing. We have marked the partition as read only to prevent anymore data corruption so we can keep the sites online.

I spoke with support earlier today and was told that it would be up by 4pm central time. I sure hope that is true because I can't wait much longer.

The transfer of the data is still in progress. We are estimating that the data transfer will be completed around 4PM central. We will still need to swap out the servers once the data is fully transferred. We will continue to update this as soon as the rsync is completed.

The rsync is still in progress moving accounts over to the new server. We will attempt to update this thread every 30-60 minutes with news on this process.

The transfer is completed and we are working to swap the servers now. We will update this when the server is back online.

Why has this taken over 24 hours? This seems very odd to me, looking at it from the perspective of a customer seeing that Hostgator isn't new, they're not a small company, and they don't only have one server. Why was there no data backup that was switched to another server while maintenance was done? I just think this entire situation is very unnecessary for the public to even know of its existance, and seems odd to me. Anyway, I'm glad to see it's coming back up. Crossing my fingers, trying not to count my chickens, but I'm glad to see progress has been made.

The server is now back online with the new hardware.

We do apologize about the time that this has taken to get back online. We were forced to run file system checks on the large drives which takes time and we were then required to transfer a large amount of data through the planets network. The main problem was caused by a network issue at the data center as the rsync was going very slowly. We had to have the servers connected directly together to get this done much faster. We have done everything possible to keep this server online and to get it back online as soon as possible.
